Structural information on proteins and nucleic acids today is widely available and in virtually all cases freely available in public internet databases. The topic of this workshop will be to learn to access and interpret such structural data. We will explore the entry format of the protein data base and understand how these data are organized. Particular emphasis will be given to the visualization of structures and the
interactive analysis of molecules on the computer. We will discuss how professional figures can be composed and rendered for presentation or publication purposes.
